Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

A long road ahead...

I can tie trout flies.....I can tie some classic wets, I want to learn salmon flies and steelhead flies...not because I fish for these fish, but because I find the flies intriguing and beautiful....
So here we go...I started once before, but as is life got side tracked, maybe this time I will stick with it...
Here is an attempt with the limited colors, and material I have for these types of flies. The idea for the wing comes from the book forgotten flies...but the rest is a mish-mash of materials I have...

After looking at the fly, you will know why I have named it "A Long Road Ahead":)

Everybody starts somewhere. Very nice. Read as much on the subject as you can it is a great help. After a few flies you will notice improvements and you will start to get addicted. I will help u any way I can.

As Mike said. We all have a starting point, and from the photo yours is quite good.
Stay with it.

Thanks to both of you for your kind words, and BRK TRT, nice to see you posting again, I hope it continues..

TM, the married wings are killing me...I can put them together and set them, but the length and and angle I have trouble with...
I read a page today that was helpful....any books you recommend that are better than others..
Neo-Classic - instructions - Global FlyFisher
