Highlands Council Decision Reversed by NJ DEP

The DEP just issued it's first reversal of a Highlands Council decision to block development. In this case, there is a rather small tract of land that falls under the domain of the Highlands Council in northern Holland Township. Some of you will know the general area if you have fished the Musky...

    Second Home Location

OK....so you've got a little extra money and you want to start looking for a weekend/vacation property. You want the property to be within about a two to three hour drive from central New Jersey, so you are focusing on PA and NY states. Ideally it will be in a rural area very close to good fly...

    Flashabou

I just picked up a multi color pack of Fashabou. When I got home and turned off the lights in the room where my tying bench is, I realized that one package actually glows in the dark (white in daylight, with a green brilliance in the dark). This looks interesting. I was wondering if anyone has...

    Meth Labs

I certainly hope that no one here ever has to take advantage of this information, but I guess they believe meth labs may start becoming more of a problem in Sussex County. I received this e-mail from the Division of Fish and Wildlife this afternoon and thought I'd pass it on to those of you who...

    Holland Township Creeks

Getting a little tired of reading through all of the upper Delaware posts, so I thought I'd turn to an issue I've had with some of the small creeks close to home. The Little York Brook is one of the 35 classified wild trout streams in New Jersey. This is located very close to my home. I have...

Lost bottom half of rod this morning

If anyone finds the bottom half of a Sage 9' 4wt FLi please let me know. I slipped out for about an hour and a half this morning at KLG, got four fish, and then in a rush forgot the bottom half of my rod. I was at the north end of the gorge. I had already removed the reel. Many thanks!

    Percent landed

Looking back, I probably land somewhere between 2/3 and 3/4 of the trout that I hook. I get a variety of break-offs and spit hooks (some might say quick releases), and I generally press the barbs down wherever I am fishing. I was wondering how this stacks up against the rest of the group here...

    Youth size wading boots

On e-Ebay I was able to find a nice pair of used stocking foot waders that are a good fit for my oldest son, almost 11, but I can't find any wading boots in a youth size 2 or 3. Anyone have any ideas where to look? I tried all the usual spots on the web (Cabelas, Orvis, etc.). Lacking that, I...

    Round Valley

While snooping around the state's web site I stumbled across this new article on the lakers in Round valley. I was surprised to find that the stomach contents are primarily midges and scuds. Hoppers

While doing some yard work this weekend I noticed the first grasshoppers of the season.
