I recently took a class on bamboo rod building and hopefully using heat gun, I can straight them out as needed. I got the ferrules to fit over the weekend and waiting for components to arrive to start building the rod. Thanks for your advice.

Luckily, I know how to fit the ferrule. Just don't want to go through the same thing all over again as it is a clear writing in the wall.

You hear terms "you get what you pay". Foolish of me to expect something decent for $400 but at least ferrules should fit no?

I would do exactly what you've suggested except that the whole new process will take another 3 months...

Finally received the blank. Not straight, ferrules don't fit... Oh well. Lesson learned...I'm not going to chase Tim as I completely lost interest in him.

When I inquired about the Carlin quad, the waiting period was about 6 months. That's why I went with Mr. Zietak. I think he can actually increase his client base significantly only if he can run his outfit more professionally as there are a great demand for quad rod...

Good idea! Never dealt with a small outfit. Also, I was naive enough to think that such trade involves love for the sport and hard work which usually done by honest individual.

It’s amazing how tough it is for these little creatures to survive in their tough environment. A mere two inches trout (sorry trouser trout!) already adopted itself into its hostile world yet thriving… man, I love fishing!!!
