    Stripers in the D

Didn't Mark Celebuski used to post on this site? He has targeted stripers in the Upper Delaware for decades. Pretty sure JC, another former poster here, caught one last summer on the WB. I've seen them in the West Branch, the Main Stem, and the Lackawaxen. Never seen one in the East Branch but...

    Bright fly shop

I spent several springs fishing the Lackawaxen long ago, before I moved up the Delaware and discovered the tail waters. I fished with Charlie and Ivan and those other geezers who hung out around that shop. They were really nice, warm, welcoming guys, with a great sense of humor. Also...

    10 pound Delaware trout

I catch 3 or 4 fish of this size every year on the lower main stem, down by long eddy. Usually on #26 soft hackle trico emergers, fished directly upstream in full sun. It is a special experience every time. But not that special. I don't even take photos of them anymore.

    Hatch charts and climate change

Yeah, that's about all I need to hear to totally discredit anything else you have to say. About anything. The global temperature "could be going up."

    Delaware Shuttle service

lol. Yeah I figured if I just opened fire I'd hit the target with one of them. been waiting for an excuse to bring up the Vince Lombardi rest area again... your move MacFlysopen.

    Delaware Shuttle service

"Guide you safely to Hoboken"? Sounds like you're looking for a weird excuse to drive by the Vince Lombardi rest stop with me in your car, late at night. Save it for the alterboys. p.s. I don't live in Hoboken. Not sure what stereotype you're relying on, but whatever it is, it's at least 10...

    Delaware Shuttle service

I already was a fan of Gene and Ines, but this Saturday sealed the deal for me. My brother-in-law and his friend and I were floating the West Branch and planned to continue all the way down to Shehawken, floating a couple of hours after dark and throwing mice flies. Long story short, a pretty...

New thermal release plan for the Upper D

Agreed. The colder the better. Anecdotally, trout in the lower East Branch will stick around through highs in the mid-70s, especially if there are cold nights, but they all vanish immediately once the thermometer edges up toward 78 or so. There's still some ambiguity in the plan, mainly due to...

New thermal release plan for the Upper D

Some of you probably saw this already - new agreement from the DRBC regarding thermal releases from Cannonsville. (Most important section is pasted below.) My take is that this is very good news. It insures that the mainstem will stay cool enough to hold trout (under 75) all the way down to...

An actual fishing report. While you boobs opine about too many drift boats and whethe

Might as well move then. 70% increase in precipitation during major rainfalls in the last 50 years in the northeast. The wettest year on record since the 1800s. Something tells me Rusty apologizing isn't going to make a difference. A drought/deluge cycle (more rain than not) seems to be the new...

An actual fishing report. While you boobs opine about too many drift boats and whethe

I take it you don't have a boat? Flows are not through the roof, just a bit high for wading. Try the lower BKill above East Branch tomorrow. By the weekend more water should open up, especially high on the tailwaters, if/when the reservoirs stop spilling. I'd guess by Saturday night you'll find...

An actual fishing report. While you boobs opine about too many drift boats and whethe

Imagine smoking a giant spliff and then being hit hard on the head with a piece of firewood. Then imagine that most of the burritos in your life had wings or tails and could either fly or swim away. Then imagine that you found a burrito that magically could not fly away. You would eat it too.
