I spent several springs fishing the Lackawaxen long ago, before I moved up the Delaware and discovered the tail waters. I fished with Charlie and Ivan and those other geezers who hung out around that shop. They were really nice, warm, welcoming guys, with a great sense of humor. Also...

I catch 3 or 4 fish of this size every year on the lower main stem, down by long eddy. Usually on #26 soft hackle trico emergers, fished directly upstream in full sun. It is a special experience every time. But not that special. I don't even take photos of them anymore.
