Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!
Thats great Im glad to hear its passing the test. These are being shipped out for a fly swap.
I used one coat of Herder's head cement would you recommend a second coat after they dry?
tail : 4 Badger Hackles with silver flash
Body : White and chartrus deer tail
Back : Peacock Herl
Throat/gills : Red krystal flash
I changed it a bit by making the tail longer 2 times hook shank and extending the peacock herl to the end of the tail
Looks great under water, I cant wait to give...
Thanks Mike. I went with the feather hanging one shank length off the end of the hook. what do you do? Looking at it maybe the deer hair is a little long making it look like the feather isnt hanging off as far?
Yes thats the way I was doing it. I think I got the idea from that video in fact. I was going to post the video but didnt know if it was okay to post someone's video other then my own without permission. The egg comes out great using this technique. There is no waste and its fast.
Im working on...

Thanks
Great link thanks. The bug is a sowbug and not very important to the fly fisherman. Well that trout had a full belly of these. This part of the river was very weedy and still behind a damn
Yup I like to eat the first and last of the season like my grandfather. Small fish are less toxic then the old big ones. Fly fishing is way more fun then spinning. I sold all my spin junk a few weeks ago so I have no excuses.
I caught 5 in 2 hours but most were in the last 40min. I got them on a Yellow bugger with a red tail but I think I would do better with black or olive. Its in the picture but its a little hard to see. The bug in the picture is what they are feeding on right now. I want to find out what that bug...
Mashapee is under major rivers and is open year round. Too bad I didnt see your post before Opening day it would have been more useful to you. In the future I guess you can check the Ma. website right before you go to make sure nothing changed. On anything open year round that changes for some...
