I prefer the upper stretches, beaver, or willow so it's pretty much my 5 and sometimes 4 weights. 6 wt casts better, sure, but I barely feel the fish.
I too love my old loomis 8/9 wt for steelies and salmon.
I've tried both, but never visited either brewery. Ommegang is some good stuff. Maybe I will hit it up this trip if we get lucky with the birds and have time. Just put the finishing touches on the trip and will be just south of the Richfield Springs area May 1-4 for the opener. I'll let you...
Or that they've all been eaten. I read an article years ago that had the estimated number of trout eaten by birds of prey, but I believe it was NY. Don't recall the numbers but I remember being pretty shocked.
When we are up that way we sometimes stop at that Fly Creek store for good wine, food, spices etc. Take a look at the bruisers in the creek right outside the store if you ever get a chance, they're huge. There is some great fishing in the area.

this is the way to go, I'm in the pines and it's tick heaven here. Permethrin is tits. Just remember its a treatment and doesn't go right on ur skin, gotta apply to clothes and allow to dry.
Hmm, sounds familiar. That massive guns something I bring along with walks with any lady friend. It's called a weenie, and I suggest you get to know yours if at all possible. Then try to coax it into being your buddy and not just a figment of your imagination, and maybe feed it enough...
