The beaverkill and wilowemoc are unfishable and have been for some time now.Way to warm and low to fish epecially if you practice C&R.The west branch is fishable but running 1120 cfs which is a bit high the river has beem "dead" I was there this past fri and thats been the word.The EAST branch and neversink are tailwaters and are fishing well! If you want more info on the neversink or east branch let me know>

Hi Joe, my son and I are heading to the catskills Sunday morning until Tuesday afternoon. I know the Trico's are on but do you have any other information that might be helpful.

There's a great article about the Neversink in the July/August issue of American Angler. You can't always go by what you read, but I think it's definetly worth giving it a shot. I just might try it this weekend. 1120cfg is pretty high for the WB but not for the Mainstem. The Mainstem is around 1290 and the water temp is around 67 which is an ideal fishing condition for this river.

Stay away from the Beaverkill and stay away from the Willow. They are both very low and warm. Whatever fish may be left are probably ready to die.

I was up there fri on the west branch all day and the tricos on the lower west branch were weak!I think your best bet for the tricos will be the neversink.The east branch about middway up from the beaverkill towards the dam is fishing well.Olives,sulphurs, and caddis and i hear prospectimg the banks with hoppers are turning some nice fish!(Both on the east and neversink)The west is high and pretty quite right now.I Would love to send you and your son to a few nice spots on the neversink and the east branch.If you need directions and spots on these two rivers Email me at j.tutino@worldnet.att.net AND ANYONE ELSE THAT EVER NEEDS A SPOT OR TWO ON THOSE RIVERS.I just dont want to make it public with the trolls hangin around surfin the boards.Depending on were you fish the neversink makes a big differnce especially at this time of the year.I grew up fishing that river and its a "sleeper"Large cagey wild browns or in the easier acsees points mostly stocked.Take your pick and let me know.The east has some major league fish in it!And if you like big water than like Dennis said the main is fishing good right now!

I'm thinking about it for Either Saturday or Sunday. Did you read the Article in American Angler? Do you recommend any of those spots? What exit off of 17 is best to take? Is it before Monticello? Ok too many questions. let me know. Thanks
