    special reg areas

Not afraid of the skunk, just hoping the water has some character. W/ limited time to fish I'm not sure if it is worth a try. I can live w/ slow fishing and enjoy a new challenge, but I do try to avoid boring water.

    Ramapo River

Weight needed will vary on the area of the stream you are fishing. 10 meters up or down stream may require weight change. If you get caught on the bottom every now and then, you have the correct amount of weight on.

    little lehigh fly patterns

Ed Shenk also has a video out where he ties his famous flies. ( Big Ugly, minow, scud, cricket/hopper.) I enjoyed it. Also had the chance to fish w/ him at Allenberry at a class he taught. He is a fun guy that can catch fish. He could easily out cast my best efforts w/ a little 6 foot cane...

would love to get into fly tying but....

You're getting good advise. The flytying books by Skip Morris are great to show you "how to." Great pictures, clear explinations. Don't wait for a class, get started. Plenty of stuff on line. Go to a fly fishing show or a fytying syposium when you can to see other people tie. For me the kits...
