Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!
With all the crowds i encounter every year on the big D i would have thought that it would be someone else's favorite besides mine.:) Reasons well known
John i dont know which forms could be in the mud.The identification of the elements is key. The potential problem with these elements is the Radioactivity that can accompany them. Some elements can be bad for you but they are not all Radioactive.
Hydraulic fracturing involves injecting water, sand, and a cocktail of chemicals at high pressure into rock formations thousands of feet below the surface. The chemicals that make up that fracking fluid are cause for concern. They may include, among other things, barium, strontium, benzene...
You could be right John. Thanks for the pass. Iam just trying to pass as much info along to people as possible weather it is relevant or not. there will always people on both sides to make corrections so in the end we get a clearer picture. It just seems ironic that the more and more i hear how...
This guy is bumming . You gotta feel for homeowners like this who are paying the price for Fracking but, I guess its like living in the flood palin though , it is an acceptable risk and weather they loose there land or their wells get poisoned or they even get cancer its got to be justified...
All i can say is i do not need any evidence to support any of my claims.I make my own truths .Like this one ( fracking fluid will kill trout if it leaks in to a trout stream uncontrolled). I am very happy for the suspension of all drilling in the marcellus shale until next year. Lets make it...
At least thats a noble death for a trout. It's something that has been done for 1000,s of years same as deer hunting. Now this fracking fluid gets dumped into a river system and not only the fish die but the whole stream gets F----- up, people cant drink their well water and most likely get some...
Iam for the ban on putting fracking chemicals anywhere near a wild trout stream or any trout stream for that matter.I believe that At some point they are going to leak into it and kill some fish. Save wild trout C&R.
NY Assembly Passes Moratorium on Gas Drilling
The Assembly passed a bill that places a timeout on hydraulic fracturing ("fracking") for natural gas by suspending the issuance of permits to fracture wells in New York State until May 15, 2011.
Last night's overwhelming 93-43 vote will prevent...
These are the types of accidents that will happen and nothing can stop them. If you are for fracking than this is an acceptable risk. This is why the environmentals are against fracking. I for one hope NYC gets at least a 50 mile buffer zone in place around the watershed before they allow...
In recent years the boating and surf anglers have been doing a job on the big females. With the more recent return of large quantities of adult bunker in the springtime comes the snag and drop method of striper fishing. ( if it can be called fishing ). Snag a bunker let it drop to the bottom...
Just another way drilling can harm the environment . Could be just as bad or worse than an accidental spill if someone wanted it to be. Very sad:looser:
Iam sure Don Siegal wont be to dissapointed if there is major contamination from a gas well in delaware county into the Delaware system since he is up in Syracuse and since his only hobby of interest listed is competitive chess well lets say the contamination of the drinking water and the dead...
Same shiit going on in the catskills the last week or so. Plenty of fly fishermen C&R fishing mid day in 70 deg water temps. :give-the-finger:.
On other sites they even post about it like it's no big deal. There does need to be some educational sections added to the yearly fishing regulations...
"Big money draw the flies":toilet-humor:. Its hard to fight it when agencies are trying to get around the rules. Lets hope these wells have to go through the same tests and regulations as all others that will be drilled in the area.
The fish in the system move all the time in relation to water temps. They absolutely will not die due to warm weather spurts that raise water temps to over 70 deg or even close to 80 deg. After all they know their environment well enough and have the ability to survive these types of situations...
Just because the water levels under ffmp might be better now than under the previous programs does not neccesarily mean the the current plan is working. When myself and other fishermen( iam sure ) are sitting at home due to the current stream temps in MAY there is something very wrong. FFMP may...
