Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!
Where has our good friend Andy B gone off to. He's like a fart, he comes in with a loud roar, slowly fizzles out but leaves a horrid smell behind {no pun intended}
It boggles my mind to. I never could understand the infatuation people have with this Beaverkill river. It heats up like a Hottub in the summer. The Delaware river is unpredictable. One day you go there and its running super duper high and you can't wade into it because you'll be swept away and...
yep, what he said. You should see a pull off every hundred yards or so. If you don't see one for a while, turn around because you're no longer near the Beaverkill.
This occured to me the other day with a bunch of tippet spools in hand. If you want to figure out what size tippet to use, the formula is very simple. Take the size of your hook and divide it by 3. If you're using a size 20 fly then your tippet should be 6x. Using a size 16 would be 5x. Of...
THIs is aquestion that has me thinking about attracktor paterns. On anther board people talk about these flys quite often but i don't understand why. These are obviously stocked fish lures which would server no purpose on a wild trout stream. I prefer to use more realistic patterns like the...

JoeT, I hope to learn a thing or 2. Your documentary on the olives was very good. i enjoyed reading it and learned a bit. the only thing is that there was too much information in there. it will take me a little while to absorb it. ;)
hello all from a newbie

I'm an avid fly fisherman and fish most rivers in the tri-state area. I sometimes take my 6year old son with me to fish using worms and...
