Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!
Here is a site that shows water monitoring data for the S Branch and from which you can get the water temperature again. The array is at the same place the USGS monitoring equipment is. There are others river sites that give the temp where the USGS doesn't on here also...
I swore this off 20 years ago. But I will go on a following weekday if I can get there without an ark. And if Lightenup is open, I will get some tacos.
I don't think I resemble that description, but I'll take it. I think this thread has a record page count for the new neff. Look what 3 people can do! And we found out that finite really does tie flies.......
Great report, great looking fish. I just wish I had enough hair on my head to have my own DA. That's why I go around picking dead ducks. I think that's why anyway. That's my story and I'm sticking with it. Still too cold for me, but I'm a candy ass anyway.
I like your idea of the jig hook...

That's a nice piece. And spring is right around the corner, and like the clay goes around on the wheel, the thread goes around the hook. So from that perspective, it is a similar activity, and you get something useful when you are done. But I don't think you can cast that on a 5 weight. And I...
This is one of my all time favorite and most productive flies-a green caddis pupae. I have always caught more fish on this fly when it has wing buds than when it doesn't. This is definitely a go to for me.
Just had this done on Saturday from the stump of an oak tree I had to take down as it was pretty much dead, and wanted to do something with the stump, which I left about 6' tall.
They look even better in person. I appreciate this for the flies, and for you getting me to fish some midges when the water gets low. I have not done it for years, and I should have been. They are really fine midges, and an exceptional sulphur. The way you tied it has been a good pattern for me...
