    Sage Warranty

I picked up a Sage DXL Typhoon hip/sling bag online new and unused. Its supposed to have a waterproof compartment with a YKK zipper. I immediately gave it the douche test in the sink and it failed miserably!. Right on the phone to Sage customer service, they would gladly replace it right away...

    Whitecaps on the East Branch

Had the day free yesterday so I headed up to East Branch, the forecast was 15-20 mph winds and I figured I could handle that. I pulled into the parking area and opened the door and and a gust almost ripped it out of my hand. There were whitecaps going upstream at my new favorite spot! I didn't...

Camping in New York state forests

Any one know what the camping regs are for the areas posted as "State Forests" in and around the Catskill region and PA such as the gamelands etc. The DEC websites are not too specific. There are some nice spots around the East Branch to throw up a tent for a weekend of fishing.

    Where were they?

Anyone have any idea why one of the major rod makers was conspicuosly absent from the show last weekend? you would think with two hot new rods out they would have been there to support their dealor network. I gotta think it helps with sales to have the reps demo the rods then having vendors...

    Going Mobile

Anyone have any experience with portable tying kit bags i.e. Fishpond?. Do you tie on trips often? if so do you have a fully loaded kit or do you just take materials specific to each fishery/hatch you are expecting?. Is it possible to get enough in a travel kit to be well prepared for any...

    Water temps

Looking for some quick feedback on temps for upper SBR, Flatbrook, Musky or the Lopat for this weekend. Thanks Alan

    And then it happened...

So I figured my best bet for a nice afternoon on the water was Flatbrook, The musky and SBR were a little mucky for my liking. I went to the Fly only stretch and started down the path to "the big pool" (I know it has a name but I can't remember). I got here and it was deserted!. I never...

    Compara Emergers Question

Tyed up some compara style emergers today and gave the a float test. It seems I cant get the tail or shuck to sit nicely below the surface film, it seems to be a little too bouyant. I'm new to tying and thought maybe I was overdubbing the bodies, I am using a light wire scud hook and z-lon for...
