Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!
1. One uses pheasant tail and one uses rabbit :)..my pheasant tails usually come apart!
2. Attractor, I use them in waters with stoneflies, Isonychia....
3. I fish them bottom to top.
Choice
If I have a choice, I guess it would be..
Drifting a Henryville Special, twitch it a little, drift some more.... then BAM!
catch my breath and do it again.....
Leaders
I use Doug Swisher flat butt's most of the time. I nail knot the line connection to another piece of yozuri with a loop. Tippet - orvis, maxima.
When I fish the Potomac for smallies I use straight yozuri hybrid or straight mono for top water

They can give you the info you need.
The stream is easy to fish with plenty of parking and a path that runs along it.
Russell Brook
Wrangler,
Is there any public access to this stream or do you have to stay at the campground to access it?
Also, how is that campground?
Nice place?
Caught a few browns by the Sunoco even after Jeanne rolled through the area, Sept.28-30.
The Beaverkill was high, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
This is probably my last fish of the year in the Catskills.
BK
Split,
I was there last week. The Beaverkill was fishing pretty good through the weekend until Tuesday when Jeanne rolled in. After that we had to hit small streams for some brookies.
Got into some fish Monday night by the Sunoco , bunch of caddis. Thursday and Friday I used a black/griz...
Guides
Never hired one but have heard good things about the guides at Catskill Flies in Roscoe.
They have always treated me great whenever I go there for info/supplies.
I will be in the Catskill's the last week of September. Can't wait ! Hitting the WB, Main, and the Beaverkill. Taking a friend who has never caught a trout on a fly.
I love it there in the fall.
HLR,
I've talked to a few people who float it on rafts, but not a drift boat.
I may head there on Monday.
I live near Charles Town, so let me know if you ever need a partner for a trip there, I'd be happy to go.
Good luck.
I'd recommend a size 14 Henryville....:)
