I can't remember a NY opener with better fishing conditions. Air temp was around 65F plus or minus, and water temp was averaged at about 45F. I fished both my fly and tenkara rod. Most trout were caught on top with a #14 gray haystack.

Fished another new spot. This one really opened up at places, 25ft. across in some spots. Caught a lot of little ones, nothing good sized at all. Water was high, and at 65F. Productive flies were: #14 Mr. Rapidan, #14 micro-BH woolly bugger, and an assortment of bead head nymphs.
Fished another new stream. Productive flies were a #14 Ausable Bomber, a #16 BH PT nymph, and a #14 brown mini-BH wooley bugger. Water temp was 63F.
