Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!
Louis, thank you for bringing awareness to this. I have sent an email to the pfbc and I will send one to the mayor also. Many guys ok this site fish the saucon and I implore all of you to get behind this cause. Thanks.
Mostly outside the bar. Not in casting distance. Boats and kayaks hammering them. People have to learn catch and release or we won't have a striper fishery soon.
I think the prudent path is to be overly cautious. If I were in charge and responsible for 10 of thousands of livesx, and billions of dollars in property I would want to be 100 percent certain the problem was fixed correctly even if that means draining the reservoir. I wouldn't want something...
Catastrophic would be the dam failing and towns along the entire river all the way to Delaware bay destroyed or inundated with water. I would hate to see the reservoir drawn down destroying the ecosystem but I would think, even if the repairs are completed before this that ny would want to...
They are mostly a still water bug,but they do appear in rivers also. I was working in York pa one night and saw thousands of them crawling across the parking lot of my job. Codorus creek was nearby so I assume that's where they came from. The breeches vets a good hatch of them . I fished it...
Nice to see those rainbows growing and doing well. Did you get any wild browns? I caught a bunch a few years back during an amazing sulpher hatch. That's a nice spot that I don't get to often enough.
Fred, totally not the same. That water has been degraded do to several major floods. Then it went dry because of poor managment in a quarry up stream. We are talking about restoring a section of river not more water from a dam. A lot of good trout habitat has been lost there, and hopefully Rusty...
Fred, I'm totally on board with your plan. It can't be that easy, can it? After reading the ffmp link you posted my brain damn near melted. Your plan sounds much easier. I would like to hear from ny why it can't happen. What is their science behind what they do?
Rusty,I can probably draw u a detailed map of how it was when I fished it. From the ballfield bridge down to the end of the long slow pool. I can even put fish locations in for you. O used to get a lot of washed down rainbows in the upper area in the ledges behind the ballfield. The olives were...
I can't believe how much that downstream section has changed after giving your pic a closer look. The tail of that pool used to shallow into a riffle and would sweep left around and under that log it then would hit the left bank forming a nice deep run where I always found risers, then it would...
Rusty, that looks like it but it was in the water at a 45 degree angle and the water flowed under it and made a deep cut. The fish I used to catch were spectacular. Do me one favor if the satellite dish is still in th sharp bend up stream leave it. Some nice trout lived under that thing but the...
It will be nice to see that stretch get some help. I used to fish it a lot. The sulphers by that fa bureau bridge were great and more then a few big browns were caught by that middle abutment. That slow water down below was always a good trico spot for me,and there used to be a big tree at the...
