The green-blooded skinks of the genus Prasinohaema possess highly toxic levels of biliverdin. (That's a bile pigment). The blood of every Green Skink is saturated w/the stuff. And any creature who crawls, or flies, or swims, near the surface of our earth... w/that much biliverdin...technically...

Ponds that are in an East/West orientation tend to break up earlier, especially if the western edge is Not protected by large hills or mountains. A North/South orientation tends to delay ice-out. Shallow ponds tend to break up earlier. IME, they also fish better than very deep ponds at early...
