BRK TRT: I'm thinking of taking a day off from work (Boston) this month and fishing an eastern Connecticut river for browns and/or rainbows (I know and respect your affection for the smaller streams, but it's browns on a 5-wt that occupy my daydreams). Could I ask your recommendation? I'm a...

    Wood River RI

Has anyone been on the Wood River this month enough to know the flows and hatches at mid-summer? I have a chance to spend a few hours on hit this weekend, and can't help but to reach out for a little advanced intelligence. I fished it last year at about this time of year and seem to recall the...

Looking for . . . STH Cayuga Small

Anyone seen the cage for a STH Cayuga-Small for sale, new or used? I've been collecting spools for that reel out of dusty bins in fly shops all over, and now have every conceivable line for my 5-wt on its own spool. When I went to buy a back-up to protect that minor "investment", it came to my...

    "Salters"

That is a tremendous fish for the Quashnet, from what I'm told of it. I'd be pleased for a private message of suggestion. I live not far from it, but would not have thought of fishing it until a little farther into the early spring. Think of it: wild trout, on Cape Cod, in February. It's the...

    Rhode Island fishing

The veteran I talked to on the way off the river indicated he thought that they'd be stocking this week.

    Rhode Island fishing

I thought I'd append to this thread my report of fishing on the Wood River yesterday morning. It was a perfect morning for fishing, althought the flow of the river was slower than I was expecting after all the rain the previous two days. It's only the second time I've fished it, so I actually...

    The Ottauquechee near Woodstock

Thanks. I did fish Saturday evening, just above the bridges in the town of Woodstock. It's tremendous pocket water right there. But there were no insects hatching that I observed, and I didn't hook into any fish, if they were there. Only had about 90 minutes on the water. I'll be interested...

    The Ottauquechee near Woodstock

I'd appreciate the board's help (on this thread or in a private message) getting oriented to fishing the Ottauquechee. I've got a brief opportunity tomorrow evening to fish it, while in Woodstock on some family business, and will need to be efficient with where and how I fish it. I'll have a...

    Indian Head River Pembroke Mass

There is indeed a dam at Elm Street, where the stream is known as Indian Head. Public access is just east/downstream from there about 3/8th of a mile. The Mass Wildlife website indicates they stock it in the spring. I'll give it a try at some point this fall and let you all know how I make out.

    Indian Head River Pembroke Mass

Anyone ever fished for trout in this tributary of the larger North River in eastern Massachusetts? I "discovered" it today on a detour off the main highway in to Boston, and it certainly looks like a stream that would support trout.
