Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!
My wife is working and I have a photo shoot at 11:30 in Newton but I'm hoping it goes all day so I can either go in the morning or the afternoon. Anyone have times?
Thought about bringing the kids, in theory is nice, but having a three year old, a five year old and a seven year old walking near...
I went to the Hungry Trout in Wilmington and Nancy said wolly buggers and streamers. She directed me to a couple of "pools" near Whiteface where my friend, whose house we were staying at, directed me to also.
I landed nothing.
These were no BFB pools, they were white water rapids! I will post...
It is not the camera that matters in that case it is the lens, and although I have a lens for something far away most of the bears I see are right off my back porch an all I need is a wide angle.
I shoot with a Nikon D200, Fuji S3, Nikon F100, and a small pocket medium format camera loaded with BW. When I go fishing though I usually bring either the D200 for photos of the fish or the medium format for photos of the scenery.
I will be able to fish the AuSable this Saturday in the middle of the day. Should I have any hopes? I have read it will be kind of early but I will have my cameras and am just hoping for a nice day. Any advice on flies and or locations? I am staying in Keene.
I fished the BFB last Friday, drove past the big pool and parked further down. Went down a big steep hill and found some sweet undercuts that looked promising. No go. I am getting frustrated, if it was a case of live or die, the tribe would be hungry.
Was at BFB today and there were remnants of Saturdays massacre. At 6:00 I was near the Roy Tract de-icing my eyelets and just moved upstream picking up garbage. Filed up a Shop-Rite bag!!
It was like there was no fish. Met two guys who were casting flys and they had no luck either. WTF?
Thanks for the compliment! Checking around I don't see any TCA's in Sussex County area. I was all over the Fish and Wildlife website and found only places far from me. I will be posting pics as soon as the fishing picks up. Probably not fish but i keep my fingers crossed.
Thanks! Drove way back out in Walpack and saw some beautiful pockets of fish! Hope they are still around when I get a chance to go. Took a lot of pics today. Mostly of the Brook but also some turkeys out in the fields.
Are people fishing waters that are closed? Or are places like KLG open? I went and checked BFB today, there was no one around, as it said not open until the 11th at 8 AM. Water was high!
