    Natchaug River

I've been fishing the Natchaug for close to 30 years. I'm not aware of any maps (haven't looked, though), but all you really need to do is drive along rte 198 through Chaplin and Eastford. There are a few parking pull-offs, and the entrance to the Natchaug State Forest is right off 198. There's...

    Suggestions for going out West

Thanks for the info- I'm heading out to Denver in July for a wedding, and hope to get a few days to myself... I've never been fishing out west, and I'm hoping to have the time to give it a go...

    Housatonic this weekend... Suggestions?

Friday on the Farmington, we did ok, we fished Greenwoods and the Boneyard, while being serenaded by shotgun blasts from the pheasant hunters. I got a few brookies on pheasant tails, and one of the guys I was out there with got a real nice big brown. We did great on the Housy Saturday, there...

    Connecticut Marine Waters Fishing License

60 bucks for an out of state marine fishing license? Yikes! NY State's non-resident marine fishing license is 15 bucks, and it looks like CT will have a reciprocity agreement with NY; if you have an NY license, you can fish in CT marine water... I think I found my loophole...:D

    Connecticut fishing and camping

I know this thread is a few months old, but if you ever head back for another trip, in Eastern CT., the Natchaug River is a trophy trout stream, and the river runs right through Nickerson Park campground. I've been camping there with family every spring for over 25 years. You get up in the...

    Housatonic this weekend... Suggestions?

Hi, I'm heading up to the Housatonic this weekend with a few friends, just looking for a fishing report, so I can get some idea of what the fish are hitting this time of the year... Does the Housy mimic the hatches on the Farmington? Fished there plenty, but never been out on the Housy...

Orvis Battenkill Pro Guide Mesh Vest

I own a Guide Mesh Vest, and love it. I've had it for about 3 years, I guess, and it has held up very well. It's a little lighter than the regular vest, obviously, but holds everything I need it to, and I still have empty pockets. I guess it can get heavy at times, but that's usually because I'm...

    Hello

Thanks for the info, I sounds like have some exploring to do. :) I lived very close to the White river, in White River Junction, actually, close enough that I could walk there. Fished several sections of it, from the confluence of it and the CT river, up past Norwich and close to Bridgewater...

    Hello

Hi, I've been reading this forum for about a week or two now, and thought I'd introduce myself. I just moved down to central Jersey, near Trenton, from VT. My wife chased a good job, and I went with her :). I'm an avid trout fisherman, and also grew up in CT fishing for blackfish, blues and...
