    Carrying Cases

I got the Orvis Safe Passage carry on case. I started to use it only when flying, but it has become my everyday holder. I don't like using the original rods or the rod/reel combo tubes because I cart my gear with me where ever i go. It only holds 4 piece rods, or a 3pc, if each piece is less...

When local shops aren't an option......

I have used J Stockard and I like their service. I also watch for sales at Cabelas and Orvis. Most of my material is from local shops though. EDIT: J Stockard has a 20% off all hooks in stock for this month.

    Alternative Energy..Not So Fast

I vote for nuclear or hamsters and their wheels. However, nuclear is very hard in this country because of tree hugging hippies.

Auction For a Bamboo Classic and Bill Ballan Fly Reel

Why are we still talking about this? I feel like I am in high school all over again. I think we should settle this with some good ol' jousting. However instead of riding a steed you will be riding in the back of a pick up, and instead of a lance you will use a Granger Victory 8ft 6 inch Bamboo...

    banning felt soles

Where is this, Ken Lockwood George?

Thrasher, To be quite honest all you needed to say from the very beginning was to say and ONLY say, here is the link to NJ fish and wildlife website. Especially because Kris was also asking for about the gorge. He stated he had never been there, so any positive input would have been helpful to...

Where is this, Ken Lockwood George?

I'm with AK on this one. This guy has never been to KLG and is looking at fishing it. It is not hard to walk KLG and find a spot for yourself. So, Kris, I would recommend you going to either google maps and searching for the gorge so you can get driving directions from your house, or I would...

    just got my 3 weight

TT, I have used the Orvis Wonderline for the past two seasons. I have used it on a 3wt, and 5wt. I tried using 4wt and 6wt respectively and didn't really like the results on the 3wt rod, but I think it was the rod action that I did not like. If you got the money and want to try it out I...

    New Years Flyfishing Resolutions

Jamie, good luck with the quitting. As for fishing resolutions, I have several. 1. Tie more flies 2. Fish more while I am here in NJ, and fish more in different states. I need to get WVA, and VA out in the next year. 3. Catch a striper on a fly.

    Buying fly tying materials online

I too have used J Stockard and Orvis. I have had good luck on feathers and hair from both, but I prefer buying in person. For shops here in Jersey I have gone to Tight Lines and Shannons and I would recommend both. The Orvis shop in Marlton is nice too, especially with the Bose store right...
