Here are a few warmups from my winter tying sessions.

Just out of curiousity, how much time goes into patterns like these???Looks very time consuming to my untrained eye....
I've been tying for over 20 yrs but never anything near these georgeous salmon patterns....well done:nose-picking:

Bigfishy,it really depends on the pattern and my mood. Sometimes I can sit down and tie one straight thru in under three hours. Other times I do a little bit at a time over the course of a few days.

It's how all the old patterns were tied with gut.

Some of the guys that fish these patterns use Dacron backing on blind eye hooks. It allows for more movement of the fly in the water.


Mike! These are looking good as always. Maybe one day I will get off my lazy butt and tie some more classics up.
