Well it's that time of the year for our annual fishing get together with my Dad, brother and my son. Normally we rent a place in central PA, but life has been busy with the birth of my niece and my sons graduation from college so we couldn't make set plans and decided to fish out of my dad's house in the poconos. Thursday we are planning to stay local maybe the Leigh and Friday we are probrably going to make the run to Spring and Penns Creek. Not sure about Saturday yet. Any reports on the hatches and fishing out there? I'd rely on my dad who is retired but he can't trout fish for crap, and has beens pending all his time on the Delaware chasing shad - Which according to him he has been schooling everyone down there. :) We've been meaning to fish the Nescopek but never get there so maybe on Saturday. Anyone have an thoughts or suggestions?

I haven't fished the Lehigh for a few weeks but it should be going off pretty well right now...
They just dropped the release down to around 250 cfs and it if stays that way it should be great wade fishing this week...but they could change the flows and any moment.
I like to fish above Jim Thorpe/in the gorge etc this time of year b/c the hatches seem to be better. I'd guess the March Browns are going now maybe just getting going since the water has been pretty cool thus far.
If sulphurs have started in the lower end of the trout water then there should be plenty of fish on them.

Thanks Phil.

We fished the lehigh all 3 days last week and there was some real good caddis hatches going on that offered some fun on the dry, saw a few march browns but nothing heavy to speak of. I nymphed the whole time and caught the majority of my fish on PT/Frenchie style nymphs in sz 18. Caught some stockers - Rainbows and a brookies, lots of tiny brown trout that would just hammer your dry caddis (sz 14 and 16 tan caddis). My dad was in heaven with them. I'll put up a post with some pics later tonight.

Thanks again for the info.
