Here's another tying video of a simple but effective large mayfly emerger I made with Tim Flagler of Tightline Productions. I found this pattern in the jaws of a brown I caught many years ago on the main stem, and since then I've tied many to imitate all the big drakes that hatch near dusk on most evenings in May, June and July........Thank you to whomever broke that fish off. I couldn't be simpler to tie, and yes, it is very similar to an X-caddis, just larger and tied on a curved nymph hook instead of a standard dry.
