I have a pair of "no sweat " waders from orvis ....while in Alaska I ripped the knee climbing out of the jet-boat. I was able to repair it with plenty of aquaseal and a piece of patch material..... Is this the kind of thing they'll give you a new pair for?????? I honestly believe that it is a poor design, there is a double knee(a good feature), however it is open at the top corners of the second layer...this is what got caught and tore the waders right through. I can understand why the bottom is open...why the top? Anyway they're less than a year old what do you think my chances are of getting them replaced.........Also when looking through the Orvis catalog it is unclear whether or not they come with gaiters....my pair did not, should they have?

Orvis is a 100% satisfaction guaranteed or your money back type of company.

They also have the highest return rate on waders.

Give them a call, I'm sure they will do whatever it takes to keep you as a customer. They are a great company, that's why you spend a little more for their products.

So Dennis et al.,
Orvis "no sweat" silver label waders ...$120.00 off the regular price...
a good deal?

I have been using a set of Orvis silver label no sweat waders since August of this year, very comfortable and I like them a lot. I got them the week they went on sale. So far, they've made it through several days of one plus mile wading adventures and down thorny filled trails, no problems. I recommend it.

Does this go for all Orvis waders?

I know I bought a pair there a few years ago and within no time falling apart. I mean the seams were flopping and the knees were about gone. These waders are long gone, but I was pretty mad at Orvis. Maybe I just got a lemon, but they were not worth the money.

That was many years ago though and I have moved on, but I must be hard on equipment since waders are lucky to get a season on my legs. Seems more than anything stickers do the damage; after about a year, it looks like a shootgun hit my waders.

I have always been using neoprene waders, but I was wondering how are some of the newer styles. Are they much ligher? How do they handle up to wear and tear?

I saw above Orvis has a high return rate. Are they then a good company to purchase from? I am kind looking for a cheap, but effective way out, mainly since I destroy so many. I just dont want to dump a couple hundred and find they went as fast as the cheapo's

Jcw,

I'm not sure how old they are, but it would be benneficial to give Orvis Customer Service a call and see what they will do. If you decide to do this, please post the results of your call.

I just returned a pair of LL Bean Emerger breathable waders that had a cut on the top of the boot near the big toe. I have been using these waders for about 2 years, and was very happy with them until about a month ago when I felt a wet foot on the Beaverkill. I asked LL Bean to repair them, but they sent me a new pair. Now that's customer service!
