SWAP 2010 Round 3

DoubleHaul

DoubleHaul
OK, getting a lot of requests for round 3.
Post on this thread if you are interested & we will see where this one goes.
Who's in?
Be ready to "Tie-Up"
I'll bump this thread until everyone who wants in; is in.

DH

I will prob doe this one too. :) I liked the last one and i didnt even get the other flies yet. Idk what i will tie yet.

count me out, i have my hands full trying to tie my shoes, anyone who saw the flies that I have tied would get a great laugh...... Percy's Flies has gotten rich off me........

Just stocked up on some hooks, so sure I am in. I will post in a couple of days what i plan on tying. I am leaning towards some kind of Caddis Dry.

Thanks again DH,

brough

I'd like to join if there is still room. I think I'll probably tie a biot body cdc comparadon - maybe a bwo.

For round 3 I'm tying "Ice Caddis". To be honest with you; I have never fished this pattern before so I can't vouch for its effectiveness. I've heard from a reliable source that its a very effective pattern so I did tie a dozen for myself.

OK thats 9 lets get 3 more come on Rusty Spinner show us your game!!

OK, I'm in this round now that most of the grants are written. I'll have to look over the other threads to see what was tied recently, but I'm leaning to my signature biot body rusty spinner in some useful size or my version of the Musky shrimp that is murder on rainbows for some reason and nearly as good on browns and brookies.

i dont know if i should tie the crystal meth egg pattern, or a variation of an 'anglers nook' caddis emerger. either way it will be one or the other.

I would like to get in if its ok...
I do a lightning bug that kills in mid summer.....also open to requests...please pm me if i can get in...... thanks.... Matt

Forget the shrimp; I would like to see one of those rusty spinners if you don't mind.
Q: Do you use goose or turkey biot?

I have goose biots so that's what I'm using now. Quills are another way to tie them, but I don't have any rusty red quills currently.

16! sh!t I have 12 flies done already now I have to tie 4 more. Hope we get another storm soon so I have something to do besides shovel.:smokelots:

OK, Pete is getting nervous & I would want any bad JU-JU in this last swap so, 16 it is. Tie & send 16 please. It makes it way easier for me to sort & if this is your favorite fly, you get one back to put in your box that you're going to fish anyway. I'm glad to see we picked up some folks who didn't make rounds 1 & 2

How does a mail date of March 5 work for everyone? That's 3 weeks and a couple of days from now. If you want more time, chime in & we will move it out some more.

Mike, Ya' know, Living in the Adirondacks you always want to send your snow fall down to some smart a$$ who calls or e-mails you telling you how beautiful it is "down here" while your a-hole deep to a ten foot indian in snow pack. Well, today is payback day. Total snow fall for the season here= 23", on the ground here= 3" of tight crust & the wheeler drives on top of it everywhere w/o breaking through.

ENJOY everyone!

DH~

Hey DH:

Could you move the swap out just one more week. I am taking My CCENT test that weekend on March 6, 2010 and will be cramming the study efforts all through that week.. I will be tying a wet fly but do not know which pattern yet. Will let you know shortly.

You got it Andy.
Mail date is March 12.

Bobby Wilds asked some good questions about swap logistics soI thought this might be helpful to all:

Ok here's the deal:
*The best box to use to ship & receive your flies in is an old cassette tape box. Even if your flies are small dries, you may be getting an 8x long streamer back.
*Put it in soft sided mailer envelope with another soft sided mailer envelope so I can send them back to you.
*Have it weighted at the post office when you ship it out. Put enough postage on the returing envelope too.
*Toe tag all your flies so, when the tiers get flies back, they know who tied them. You don't have to list the entire recipe, just your Board name & the name of the fly.
*write your real name & board name on your cassette box. (this makes it so much easier for me)
