Just came across this and thought it was a clever design. But then again maybe this has been around for years and I was the last to know.

But if I did wear a vest I would absolutely hate that box.

WB, I have two of them on my desk, they are definitely for nymphs, maybe spinners too but I wouldn't say small nymphs only. Things size 10 or larger might not fit so well but those are sizes I don't use that much.

Where's the bulk AK? That's funny. I understand why someone would like the Richardson in theory but I think they are so uncomfortable.

Anyway, I have no plans on ever getting rid of mine.

Having a vest on is way too bulky.

When are you planning your first (or next) WB float? I was hoping for April 8th maybe shoving off from Hale Eddy.

April 8th? You would have to stay on the west branch between deposit and ale eddy. When the river is boundary water between Pa and ny, the river is not open to fishing until Pa opens which April 16

Thanks for the education. Border Waters Regulations - NYS Dept. of Environmental Conservation Now that I think about it, I've never fished there earlier than late April.

Maybe I'll go anyway targeting Tiger Muskie

Orvis had that box on sale in their newsletter for around $9 when they first introduced it and I'm sorry I didn't buy a few.

According to that information on BWO, you can fish for trout on the main stem or west branch from "October 16 through the Friday preceding the first Saturday after April 11" as long as you don't keep any.
