I have a set of magnetic rod racks w/ bungees that hold down the rods...I put one on the pass hood and the other on the roof so I can watch the rods. They are a huge time-saver. Be careful with the rod tips when running down single-laners w/ a canopy! Mine were tested to 85mph using 9ft 4wts...

I too have the magnetic rod holders. They are great for when hopping runs. Don't leave them on your car, they won't be there when you return.
Are the Sumo's suction? With magnetic holders, you quickly learn what vehicles have metal vs plastic hoods.

My rods cost too much and take too long to go back for repairs to be sitting on the outside of my truck while I drive down the road.

No bugs or any other issues after 3 years of use. If people use these for rod transportation, they are definitely playing a risky game. Moving from one spot to another? One person's definition of lazy is another person's way of being efficient.
When I was in Oregon this past summer fishing the Deschutes, almost every truck that drove by had rod holders mounted on their hoods/roofs........it was a strange site to see at first.
Trout Guy, don't drive like they do in the commercial and you will be fine. I love mine and will always have one.

Thats pretty cool, i have roof rack brackets and cross bars for my car but the wind noise is killer having to drive at highways speeds.
