lol they are cool do they catch fish?

Streamers do catch fish.

I belong to another board and they use streamers in ponds and lakes a good bit.

Though for me, BRK TRT's streamers catch my eye.

I like you enjoy just looking at them.

I believe I once tried to tie a Carrie Stevens streamer many years ago and haven't attempted one since.

But when BRK TRT puts one up on the board I too am drawn to them.

Thanks.

Yes they do my friend.

Anywhere large fish swim, and small fish are there, the large fish will prefer them.
There are better times to fish streamers, this is something an angler will learn in time.

Give a streamer a try once in a while, you may be surprised.

Thanks AK,

The Rangeley/Eastern style of featherwing streamer, along with the crispness of a Catskill dry are the two most beautiful types of flies.

too fancy for my pants. i like galloup-esque streamers.

You can't take anything away from Kelly Galloup.

His signature fly the Zoo Cougar, NEFF's own TheArtofLee brought that pattern attention to many of us here on.

But to compare Kelly Galloup's patterns to the classic Carrie Stevens patterns that BRK TRT posts,

is like comparing say Mike Valla's Quill Gordon to my Quill Gordon.

Both are "Quill Gordon's", but I would much rather look at Mike's beautiful ties.

Obviously I have no clue who Make Valla is but I see your point nonetheless (googled his QG).

I look at BRK TRT flies and say, "Wow. Quite stunning, but why on earth would I want to possibly risk losing this fly? Better put it in a shadow box." When with Galloup's flies, I see them and say, "Lordy those are uglier than Catskill Mountain Man, better have it stuffed underwater in the mouth of a trout."

Mike Valla posts to this board.

If you don't have a copy, I highly recommend you pick one up. Well worth it.

Even an ignorant person like myself cannot leave this out of my expanding library. I will pick it up, and I will use it as the basis in my intro to dry fly tying next year. I devoted this year to learning and tying nymphs and streamers, some soft hackles and no wets. So next year will be dry fly intro and wet fly intro.
