stockingfoot wader question

RKM

Making up for lost trout fishing time
Is 3 mm neoprene thick enough for the bootie, or is that just asking for a short lifespan? Thanks.

The wader in question is the Cabelas RVG II. Since it is on sale online at the moment, I was curious whether the thickness of the bootie is a potential problem and therefore it may not be a worthwhile purchase. The booties have high-density bottoms. It is stated that it is a new product and unfortunately there are no reviews posted.

Why are you buying neoprene? I did some recon and checked the waders out, for 80 bucks how do you go wrong? I had a pair of lightweight White river cheapo waders that lasted me a a long time and i showed them no respect.

At 80 bucks, if you get two years out of them it comes to 40 a year. I think you will develop leaks in others areas before the bootie goes

I'm not. The RVG II waders are breathables. I'm encouraged by the fact that you had cheapos that took a beating and survived a long time.

I've never had waders wear out at the bootie, and never heard of it happening. The only thing thou might want to consider is that your boots might fit differently if the difference in bootie thickness is substantial.

These things for $80? I wouldn't expect much out of them for $80 and wouldn't worry about the 3mm booties.
