hey does anyone have any experience with these vibram soles? looking to get a good pair of boots that arent to expensive any advice would be appericated

thanks john

I'm going on my 3rd season of a pair of Sims wading shoes with the vibram soles and I love em.
For added grip purchase the screw-in carbide studs.

In place of my old Korkers spiked sandals (of wich I have three pairs) I've been wearing the new Orvis bootfoot with a rubber sole and screw-in cleats for my steelheading. This is my first experience with non-felt soles and I must say that I'm very pleased with them and the way they grip.

I got the Simms boots 2 years ago. I was skeptical thinking back to the days of rubber soled waders but have been very pleasantly surprised. Their performance isn't noticably different from felt, i.e. I fall the same places I fell with felt soles. LOL. The one difference is that I find you have to get them wet in the shallows for a few minutes to "activate" the tackiness of the sole. Once you do that the wading is fine.

if you dont mind felt soles then theres a great deal i got on fishwest.net for simms guide boots. i added the star cleats and im like spiderman in the water.
