The teen spotted a 3-and-a-half-foot alligator in the canal Friday, The Morning Call reports.
Travis Benitez, 18, told The Morning Call he’s been fishing in the canal since he was 7 years old and never saw anything like it.
According to Allentown police, a local animal control expert was able to capture the gator Friday night.
The gator was taken to Pocono Snake and Animal Farm in East Stroudsburg.
There is no word where the alligator came from or how it ended up in the canal in the first place.
