Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

Nyc does not reflect our entire state

Although it has been very entertaining, humorous, and kind of sad to read your beligerent posts mocking the misfortune of innocent people, I for some reason feel the need to point out just how silly you are.

You bring to attention the closing of drilling / mining areas out west and claim this is a BAD thing. While this is highly controversial, you'd think for SURE anybody with a savebristolbay.org attachment to their posts would be FOR the restriction of drilling and mining out west. Although the article you've referenced does not directly pose a threat to the bristol bay, it is the same type of activity or JOB CREATION that is being pushed to compromise bristol bay. Further, as directly referenced in the article you've quite ignorantly presented, "initial blueprint laid out in the final days of George W. administration", does directly compromise and has already destroyed whole ecosystems that feature some GREAT fisheries out west.

My request is for you to remove the savebristolbay.org attachment from your posts. The effort to save bristol bay requires an effort far greater than you'd be willing to accept.

Things are really looking up. More job layoffs, the closing of drilling areas out west. I guess the dear leader is getting what he wants. More people that will be dependent on the government. Thanks for moving us "forward".

Bristol bay is an open pit pebble mine that they are proposing. Not the same thing as closing off land that has already been approved for drilling. Nice try.

Dude, open pit mining goes on in other places than pebble mine. Open pit mines have destroyed a lot of Wyoming and other places in the lower 48, not just AK.

Lands that have already been approved for drilling? Who did such approving? The majority of these areas were most likely approved during, as quoted in your article, during the final days of the Bush Administration. While the approval of drilling our public lands does have benefit, some believe that our resources, including but certainly not limited to bristol bay, are too valuable to waste for such benefit. The effort needed to avoid wasting these resources might result in fewer mining job opportunities but some believe that these means will lead to a better future. Certainly, this belief is needed to save bristol bay.

I think you're point with your last post is to continue drilling in areas that are already messed up which is certainly more understandable than wanting to increase the number of messed up areas.

Clearly all the "green" options were just scams to steal taxpayer money.

Look at all the oil coming out of North Dakota where people are drilling on private land.

We can all go back to horse and buggies. We all have to do our part to help stop global warming, I mean climate change. Not sure what they're calling it this week.

Yeah, who needs a job when we can all just live off the government.

There are ways to drill and mine safely. It's being done right now. But even taking the risk of mining safely at the headwaters of a fishery that is sensitive as it is, would not be an acceptable risk.

I'm conflicted when it comes to the drilling thing... in one sense as a fisherman I hate the idea bc of what Ctobias implies in his post, its just too risky regardless of whether or not the proper safety measures are in place. Its just a matter of time until something happens, and 1 setback on a stream involving a toxic spill can result in serious long term damage that perhaps can never be fully repaired. On the other hand, I've been driving around upstate new york for a long time now and I've driven through too many towns for too long to deny that the upstate area needs an economic boost. The catskills in particular have declined drastically in how the towns look, are kept, ect and that points to one thing---->less money or perhaps higher costs to manage the towns up there. Hell, deposit can't even support a deli for more than year without selling or going out of business and just about every lunch spot in that town has gone out of business or drastically downgraded their hours to become a temporary limited income business at best. Many have gone out of business.
In that sense, I see why people who are thinking economically instead of environmentally want to drill, and honestly its tough to blame them. I think it inevitably will take place, how long that will be is tough to say.

I think you're confused bro. I trust you've never accepted Government assistance.

You're mistaking my point of view for protecting our natural resources, which you publicly advocate, for that of relying on the government for means of survival. Not what I'm saying dude.

You can spin what I am saying any way you want, another thing you publicly advocate.

Never taken a handout from the government. Just a paycheck. An earned paycheck.

I'm not confused about anything. I can see the direction this country is heading. It started long before I was born. Back with Woodrow Wilson, FDR. The progressive/liberal movement is killing this country. Them and all the politicians working for special interest groups.

I am all for protecting our natural resources. But we can still mine and protect our environment. Just not in the headwaters of a sensitive fishery with an open pit mine.

i say we end this.... this is like arguing whats better, perfect boobs or a nice ass

I take it you're a younger guy, too. I trust you're paying / have paid out of pocket for your education, right?

No federal assistance, I'm sure.

Federal assistance for education? Shit, you mean there was another way for me to get educated aside from working 2 jobs? Didn't know all I had to do was put my hand out.

Young. I wish. Education? For what? College is for suckers who believed what their high school teachers old them.

TN - Never even filled out a FAFSA???? To tell me that you did not either implies you're a liar or you're too incompetent to do so. Perhaps a unique combination of the two.

CTOBIAs, I think your idea of an education being for suckers is right on. We should all just get HS diplomas, mining jobs and our country is RIGHT back on track. HAHA. We, for sure, would out-compete, out-educate, out-produce in no time. Your logic is flawless. Who needs engineers, teachers, nurses, and various other professional workers?

It's sarcasm. We actually don't need any of those jobs if they involve unions.

You see what unions did for the Twinkie.

We definitely need more teachers like this to help indoctrinate the youth to think like a progressive.

TN,while I am wise enough to never insult a stranger, I must point out that your actions do indicate incompetence, not incontinence or incompetence you old bastard, or a lack of honesty. I decided to, while on lunch break from work, look up the history of financial aid for students here in the good ole US of A. Federal student aid programs date back to 1958, under the Nat'l. Defense Education Act. Perhaps, you were foolish enough to leave various resources unexplored; or a fucking liar to not admit this information.

Or, I went to college before FAFSA existed. Douchebag.

I reserve the right to insult whoever I like. You seem to know everything, like every other internet douchebag such as yourself. I did not qualify for any federal aid, hence did not apply. We were too "rich" growing up to qualify. My parents did this thing called financial planning, kind of like I'm doing for my kids, to ensure that we could get educated. Might want to look into it if you can actually convince some to procreate with you. I picked up the slack by getting a couple of different jobs so that the strain would not be too hard on my parents. Unlike you liberal idiots who are always waiting for someone else to come and rescue them.

As long as you remain intolerant of other people's beliefs, you will always stand alone and everyone will be your adversary. Oh and your projecting again, silly boy. It's not homophobic to point out that you guys are acting like boyfriends the way you've stroked each other through these past 10 pages. It would be homophobic to believe that you should not have your wonderful relationship.
