Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

New guy here, lost a reel on the Musky

Actually a lurker, great site. Anyhow, I dropped a nice reel on Mother's day morning somewhere between Pt. Mountain bridge and New Hampton. Thanks in advance for any info.

I've heard of people losing fly rod sections and fly boxes but a reel? How did you do that!
Sometimes if you hit the button too hard on your Zebco it causes it to work itself free from reel seat. gotta make sure its in there good and tight before you cast. probably what happened........:)

Welll, it's a long story for a slow typer. I took a 79 year old guy to the Raritan Inn for the "Traditional Flyfishing" bamboo rod, Hardy reel fest the day before. He has an Orvis boo rod that his wife gave him in the '70's, (that he has never used), and no reel that matches it. So, along with my fishing stuff, and his stuff that we wanted to have evaluated, I threw a spare reel in my net...put it all in his car. We didn't fish, he's too handicapped, took it all out when we got back to his place, the reel was there, put my stuff in my car. The next morning, Mother's day, I head to Pt. Mt. bridge, clip my net to my pack and I don't remember seeing the reel. So, did it fall out of the car there, or Changewater or Shoddy Mill, I don't know. It was in a Neoprene case, did it kind of float out when I waded in the first time?? It definitely isn't in either car or driveway, maybe I took it out when I was home and put it in a stupid place. I don't know. But, that's how I came to lose a reel.

I know you pain. When I was 14 years old, I left my vest at the Flatbrook .I decided to rescue a orphaned duckling. In my rescue attempt I forgot to put my vest in the car. I lost all my flies and boxes. My brother and Fathers friend still rip on me about it. The duck died on the way home.

Hey Tom --"Throw it in the PENNY PINCH" LOL --- That was a fun time and a fun day
