Does the DEC actually follow up on these calls? If there's no actual proof, what can they do?
I did explain to a family last year that the worms they were using and the dinner they were hoping to catch was illegal. They promised to not use them, but fell short of throwing them into the water as I suggested.
The problem is signage. Along the Eden Rd private rd easement they've just put up new large signs directing you to the lot down at the end, but didn't replace the rules and regs sign that is faded and stuck on a tree past the lot on the trail. A new big sign at each lot may help.
