[FIN-ITE 34]

I's been difficult this year to find the time to get out and fish, but yesterday I made my first trip out to NEPA. Water was a bit higher than I thought it would be but still very fishable and water temps were normal around 54 degrees. Bug activity was sparse with only a few caddis coming off with some dink fish splashy rises.
I ended up the day with a handful of spikes and a half dozen fish from 15" up to 19". All were nymphed.

DC, you know I am one of those low-life tight-line nymphers. All fish were on various bead head nymphs. Although most were caught with silver beads and a Fl. Shell Pink Ice Dub collar hot spot.

Whatever it takes, sometimes. I usually start my day of chucking streamers along the banks then move to dries. I like to see the take!

Nice brown FIN-ITE 34,

I would say this season was another strange one. On the positive side there were certainly more bugs on the stream I like to fish. I had at least a few nights of steady action with rising fish. My biggest fish was probably 19 inches though I marked fish that were certainly bigger. I also didnt see nearly the same pressure on the section I tend to fish so that was good. I heard the ISO hatch was solid though I cant say I personally saw many. Its been a few years since I have had decent ISO hatches to fish to. You still pick up fish on ISOs but when the hatch is on the fish are locked in and between that and the sulphurs you can several hours of good fishing. Its not often but it happens. Of course it ended to early with the warm temps and no rain. As I sit here today the streams got a nice bump from the rain and the temps are a bit more reasonable. Hoping this is a trend. In late May there were a lot of fish still (mainly stockies). in the rivers but I suspect many didnt make it over the last 2 months. Fish do tend to hold well in this creek. Hopefully this year is no exception.
