need a 6 wt line for brackish water fishing

greg s

Fishizzle, I use worms but I'm looking to upgrade!
I'm going to start fly fishing the backwater marshes along Delaware Bay near my duck camp come warm weather this year instead of using the spinning rig. I'm mostly catching striped bass between 12-24's, and won't be casting far, probably 30-40'. Any ideas are welcome. The water is not real salty in there, but is very silty, need something that will hold up in that environment.

I use a 6 wgt for my light salt water fishing. I have two extra spools for my reel. I use the same lines I use in fresh water. I just make sure I was them down when I get home. On the spools a WF floating line, an intermediate line and sink tip line. I use the intermediate line and the sink tip line most of the time. Easier to punch through wind. As brands all three are Orvis.

It's always a good idea to clean your fly line after using, it will not only add to the life of the line, but it will preform as advertised......your floating line won't sink, and if it's really bad, your sinking line won't float...;) ...
I find RIO lines to be a quality line....but I don't know much, just ask anyone here....:thumb:

If you're not looking to make hero cast everytime the Orvis Clearwater is a good all around line that are priced right.
