Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

Montana trip low down.

Here was something else I saw on their web site.

"All of our units are professionally designed and decorated."

Now when was the last time a "Professional designer" worked in knotty pine paneling?

Even Red Green stopped using knotty pine when he discovered duct tape.

I especially liked these two quotes:

"Our philosophy boils down to thisWe want to make sure that your day fly fishing in Montana is such that you'll want to come back and fish with us again. "

They failed to meet their own expectations, I think.

"What is Montana time?We get asked that question all the time. It is a state of mind. A time warp of sorts. It's a place that a watch doesn't do you much good. "

I guess this does not apply if there is a Barbeque back at the ranch...

It’s not just Montana where you can run into bad guides or shops. I'm going up to Vermont in mid September to fish for one day. My buddy Ed is going up on business, and we were going to connect for a float trip. I contacted a guide I found on line in the area we wanted to fish. Sent him an email and he confirmed that September was wide open, gave him the date. Everything looked good. This was July 2. I was going to mail check this morning for the deposit. I got an email yesterday telling me the date in doubt as he hadn’t received the deposit, but if I wanted to use PayPal, he would accept my deposit even though I wasn’t following the rules by being late with the deposit! Again I only emailed him on 7/2!<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

After getting his email, replied, thanks, but going elsewhere based on his email. I got a response thanking me for wasting his valuable time.

I went to Orvis this time to get a guide, needless to say, the first isn’t endorsed by them…I wonder why?

The best part of this trip was probably the scenery.
