lost fly rod at the KLG

flyI4

Fishizzle, I use worms but I'm looking to upgrade!
MY dad was fishing at the Klg along the upper section about a quarter mile above the big dry fly pool at that smal pull off and lost his rod in that area. He left it on top of the car and took a picture then forgot it was up there and drove away. If any of you guys find it could you please call 1800-853-1599. Its a homemade sage blank 3 wt with a battenkill reel and a rod my dad and I have used a long time. Thanks

It's been said before....
If you have to put something on your car.....
Put it on the hood, where the driver will be sure to see it.

You might want to post this on njtrout too, if you already haven't.

I did the exact same thing in the exact same place last year :crap:

I went back to look for it, but couldn't find it. Had Sage replace the tip section (I had put the butt away). When I was looking for it a F&W CO came by. He took down all my information and told me he would call if anyone found it and turned it in. I also stopped by and told the guys at Shannons. Despite all this, I never saw the tip section again. Hope you have better luck than I did!

Never lost a rod before, but I can just imagine the sick feeling of losing one of mine.

Hopefully someone will call.

Good luck.

I think we all have had similar incidents in one way or another...

Was dark and put my new 4 wt ( used 3 times) on top of my SUV while taking off my waders.... you know the rest. Heard it fall off... then watched a car run over it.

Now I put my pole under a windshield wiper. It seems really silly to do... but I haven't driven off forgetting when I was distracted by other things.

I am sorry for your loss.

"I am sorry for your loss."

Me too. I've never lost a rod, but broke my first two years ago and the artist sums it up pretty well. A home made rod too...ouch!

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your difficult time.

If you haven't already, you should post a notice up at Shannon's if they will allow you to. You are the second lost rod I've heard about in two weeks at the KLG. It sounds contagious. I hope it is returned.

damn i hope you get it back

:crap: i always pack up next to the water through everthing in the car and then take my waders off

It never ceases to amaze me that no matter how old we get,
life continues to teach us expensive lessons.

Regrets on your loss.
Hope you get it back.

I did that once at the Wanaque. I drove away and reilized it about an hour later...drove back and it was there.
