Lost Fly Box On the Neversink.

sh4ne87

Strictly powerbait fisher with an ounce of lead.
Unfortunately I lost a fly box while fishing the neversink river yesterday in the unique area off of Katrina Falls rd.

I hiked left to the blue trail and set up by the falls where i saw 2 other fishermen packs had been lain.

Im really bummed out about it because it was my mayfly and spinners box which held well over 200 dollars worth of flies. To top that I also booked a weekend in the catskills on june 7,8,9 so i have to slowly accrue flies again.

If you or anyone you know has located the box please PM me, it would greatly be appreciated. Its a tan box with ramsey outdoors on it.

On another note. if you are up in deposit NY on June 7,8, or 9 please feel free to shoot me a PM and come fish. Il be staying at the drreamcatcher lodge.

Thanks in advance.

Zero chance of me finding your fly box...but i will be staying in Hancock June 6-9...do you plan on floating while you're there?

Sorry to hear about your box Shane...I have been there... Just a little advice, put your name and contact info on all your boxes.. Most people feel obligated to return something if it has a name on it...

Some hope... many years ago I lost a full fly box on the Beaverkill. Two days later, my girlfriend found it while we were fishing two miles downstream...

What Dan said. I use a label printer to put my name and phone # on all of my fly boxes because anyone would feel obligated to return a box with contact info if they found one.

Im gonna have about 4 guys with me so floating is probably out of the question. We plan on hitting up the west branch, east branch and beaverkill. Feel free to shoot me a PM with your number and you can come fish the private stretch of the dreamcatcher with us. Il have the fridge stocked full of brews.

That sounds like sage advice. I have a p-touch label-er that i should utilize and do so. Last year i was lucky enough to be able to return a fly box i found on the west branch using this site.

I retraced every step i took that down. I dont think it will ever come uo mainly because the neversink never gets any pressure.

Funny thing is I found a fly box just like the one you described. I will sell it to you cheap. $199.99 plus tax and shipping, so a grand total of $1500

Call the local shops. You can't believe how often fly shops get things dropped off that were found along the river. A few weeks ago I tossed out a bunch of cell phones that had been laying around Shannon's for years unclaimed. We've gotten rods, reels, lots of licenses, rod tubes, fly boxes, phones, etc. dropped off and we always try to find their owners which is tough without names or contact info.
