Help with mayfly identification

I happened upon a gray mayfly [dun, just hatched] today while fishing near Stockton NJ, and for the life of me cannot seem to find an exact match in any of my books. I am going to describe it, maybe someone [with more entomology experience] could help me out.
It was a standard length # 12 dry fly hook in length, but I would tye it in a #14, wings were very dark gray, body was adams gray with darker gray segmentation, 2 tails and it had that quill gordon shaped head [kind of triangular with small eyes, not big bulbus ones]
He was quite handsome, and friendly, and fortunately for me, his younger siblings were keeping the local trout population fed, as I had the best day nymphing I ever had. Thanks, CJ

Just curious, where do you fish in Stockton? Its really not that far from me and I get a little tired of the local rivers here (Manasquan and Toms River).

Leptophlebia cupida or Black Quill. Me and Finn saw these in PA a few weeks ago. Thought it was a Quill Qordon until we looked closer.

Thanks for the replys, I wanted to believe it was a QG, but this guy was GRAY, like dipped in gray, all over. Didn't look like the Theordore Gordon Gordon Quill I am used to
I am pleased to see that there are Epeorus nymphs in this stream, it used to be quite polluted. Thanks Johnny! CJ

If you take a really good look at a quill gordon, a live one and not a traditional catskill tie which is tied with a greyish quill from the peacock eye sometimes, you will see the real insect shades more to the olive side. At least I tend to see an olivy color. A lot of the traditional flies from that area dont truly represent the insects color. Take the upcoming grey fox for example. The traditional catskill fly is tied with a grey body when the insects body is more of a creamy tanish color. The Dark Hendrickson tied with a greyish body too. If you look at the old umpqua catalogs...you sometimes wonder where some of the colors came from.

Something else to keep in mind...it was coming from a NJ stream, could have flown down from the meadowlands which may explain the gray all over. sounds like a tarnished tin man.

Check the PH in the river next time with a simple strip. QG need very good quality water.

I still think it was an adams hatch though...
