fracking causes earthquakes?

The article is very misleading. Its not the fracturing process that's causing these seismic events but is thought to be EPA Class II Injection Wells. If you have been following this there are no seismic events in PA and Co, because there are no injection wells in these states.

This seems to be the FIRST case of "Fracking" causing an earthquake...

"Scientists believe that there is evidence to support the idea that injection wells are contributing to the rise in earthquakes, rather than the “frack” job itself. However, the latest series of earthquakes occurred in an area without waste injection wells, but they were located near wells that are actively being drilled. This has raised questions about the connection between fracking and earthquakes.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources suspended the drilling operations out of “an abundance of caution.” Hilcorp Energy, the operator of the nearby wells, agreed with the agency. "

Just couldn't resist...from the pen Amel Ahmed himself.

The Columbus Dispatch cited the ODNR as saying all available information indicates the latest quakes are not connected to injection wells.
Alison Auciello, the Ohio organizer for environmental group Food and Water Watch, told Al Jazeera that the location and depth of the latest earthquakes’ epicenters are consistent with the particular drilling sites — meaning they may have been caused by the fracking operation itself rather than waste disposal.

I live next to a quarry, I regularly have artificial earthquakes caused by dynamite...My house was built in 1865, and the stones in the foundation sometimes(rarely)(actually only once) fall out and need to be put back....can I get them shut down for this? :crap: like the frackers in Ohio?

Food and water watch this is the same group that have several times submitted petitions to several state agencies with people and organizations that said they have never signed them. Falsifying documents to promote there agenda and then getting caught doing it. It's a sad state of affairs when they have to stoop that low to forward their agenda.

Now, now. We all know people who want to push an agenda always go about it in the most legal and ethical way.

Or your house is haunted. Given that it was built in 1865, its probably haunted. I bet there are bodies buried in the basement.
