I know you mentioned this book a while back. Do you happen to know the author or authors.
Harry

Hi Harry:

The authors of Forgotten Flies are Paul Schmookler & Ingrid V. Sils. The book is almost sold out and the price went up to around $275.00. I know this due to my wife got a hold of Paul and explained how she looked for the book and was referred to Paul. She told Paul that the Price of $175.00 was not an issue. Paul told her that the price of the book went up to $275. She told Paul this was my Xmas present and that I was into tying and a member of the Catkill Fly Tyers Guild. Paul out of Kindness and the season of Xmas sold her the book for $175.00. At the Somerset show that I was in this past January, My wife and I met Paul and thanked him. The Book will NOT be printed again. If you are into classic flies by Bergmen and C. Stevens and Mary Orvis then this book is a must have. I love this book and have tyed numerous patterns out of it already. A lot of the flies tyed in this book are tyed by a master of fly tying Don Bastian from PA. If you buy this book you will not be disapointed. Let me know if you do and how you like it.

Hi Andy, that's funny, because Don Bastian is the guy who sold me my copy of Forgotten Flies at last years (first annual) Catskill Fly Tyers Guild Rendezvous. We both tyed there and had our tables fairly close together. I forget what i paid for it, i think $200. Worth every penny, incredable book. I also got two copies of Rare and Unusuall, volume 2. by the same authors, signed, at this past Somerset show, for $200 each. I am looking to sell one, call for details, 607-498-9944. Paul and Ingrid are such nice people, i know they could of got more for them. I hear they are selling for as much as $700 unsigned in parts of the country. I think that may be volume 1. though. Of course there will soon be a time when both volumes will sell for over 1K., each. Hope your getting their magazine, Angling Arts? It's a great mag. and will only be piblished for 5 years. They are doing four volumes a year and that is it, 20 volumes, final. So, they will all be worth a good penny one day. Boy i really thought i'd see you at this years, (second annual) Rendezvous Andy, what happened? Well i hope your still going at it with the wets. Hope to see you tomorrow night at the CFFC&M for our CFTG meeting. Take care, mark(willow) www.JazzMarkGallery.com
