Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

Fly Tying Symposium and the "Bug Guy"

I know some of you are planning to attend next week's International Fly Tying Symposium on November 23rd and 24th at the Garden State Exhibition Center. Robert Younghanz, the "Bug Guy", will be giving a fantastic seminar on aquatic entomology to help fly tyers become more proficient at the life cycles of insects and how that relates to fly tying and fly fishing. Robert is coming out a day early to help some TU members and a local watershed association (Musconetcong Watershed Assoc.) do a "bug blitz" at Point Mountain TCA on the Musky and at least one additional Warren County trout stream of high insect quality on Friday the 22nd (sorry, but that day is full already). Robert is not yet as well known here in the East as elsewhere, so I wanted to help him get the word out before the Symposium that I know many of you will be attending. Here's some additional info:

A note from Robert Younghanz:

ADVANCED ENTOMOLOGY FOR THE FLY TYER
Join nationally renowned aquatic entomologist Robert Younghanz, a.k.a The Bug Guy, for a highly comprehensive classroom discussion of aquatic insects and their lifecycles.
For many fly fishers and fly tyers, by far the biggest blind spot is a solid understanding of aquatic insects and their lifecycles. This is ironic given that a thorough understanding of aquatic entomology is the very fulcrum of fly fishing. Moreover, it is virtually impossible for fly fishers to take their craft to the next level without a firm grasp of such concepts as biological classification, complete and incomplete metamorphous, and taxonomy of the various aquatic orders and families. Robert’s intensive lecture will enable you to achieve a new level of confidence and understanding as it relates to the study of insects. Armed with this knowledge, not only will you become a more well rounded fly fisher and a more proficient and creative tyer, but most importantly you will catch more fish.

I wanted badly to get in on that.

The 23rd is youth shotgun day though and the boys come first........might do CDC magic on Sun though.

>I'll make sure folks are aware of this. Thanks for alerting us.

-I'm looking forward to attending the show Saturday and Sunday. Hope to see some of my friends from this forum.

I would have preferred a PM.

I'll still accept a drink from you, but you should know that there are lots of losers on NEFF who might think you meant them.
