Far to often, we visit our favorite impoundment and are graced with the fly fishing crowd WHO THINKS they are fly fishermen. You know, the crowd who wears the faded WALLS camo duck waders with the BLAZE ORANGE license holder pinned to the back of their coat, or better yet, their fucking hat. The crowd who transitions from bait to FFO when the regulations changes. I don't understand. First off, we are fising for these trout, not using firearms. Second off, my fucking SHIRT is worth more than your whole god damn outfit, and ill be damned if I'm sticking a pin through the fabric/material.

A pair of LIGHTWEIGHT Rolland Martin specials can be had for that of the cost of the DICKS camo neoprene waders. Not only does it drastically cut down on my judgement I cast upon you, you are more COMFORTABLE int he warmer months when pursuing our slimy friends...

On numerous occasions, when checked by the men in green, I have been told as long as you are polite and not causing trouble, "I have no trouble with you keeping your license in your pack to prevent holes and what not in your clothing."

So ever since then, (well, before too) I have NEVER displayed by fishing license.

I guess what I'm trying to say despite this long winded post, is, anytime I see one of you fucking clowns displaying 1 or both of the aforementioned, I discredit everything you say. While I SHOULDN'T judge a book by its cover, considering there MAY be some of you out there wo dress like that and can fish the balls off me, the safe assumption most of the time is you cant.

The best is when those same people try to tell you "Oh i got a great deal at Cabelas on this combo."

HAHHAAHA Sorry. Not even venting, just chucking out some useless banter. For those of you on here that do in fact do this, can you fucking not? Im not saying go out and deck yourselves out in SIMMS and Patty, but for christ sake, look the damn part....
 
I hear ya, but I have a few comments.

Do not, I repeat, do not fish in PA. BHC not withstanding, PA is the home of the camo crowd. As Brenda at Salmon Heaven once remarked, "Are people in PA required to wear camo at all times?".

Also, beware of the cranky old fart who can outfish damn near everybody who dresses in camo simply to piss off Yuppies. Yes, it does happen. Don't give into these characters. 40 years ago I went to KLG with some TU guys, one who was an absolute trout vacuum. He was killing them one day fishing next to an old camo cowboy dunking worms who wasn't doing well. The old guy asked him what he was catching them on and the fly guy said caddis pupa in a sort of arrogant way. The old guy pinched the end of worm off and threaded it on the hook to look like a pupa. He got his limit in 6 casts and grinned back at us and said thanks. Unfortunately those old timers are a dying breed and most of the camo guys today are pretty comical, as you have stated.

I don't go camo (unless camo bootfoots are on sale at the duck hunting section), but like to get some odd looks by breaking out my metallic blue Conolon rod with a automatic reel.

Of course the other end of the spectrum, the Orvis Cowboy, can be an equal PITA.
 
Don't get me wrong, as I said, there are THOSE who dress like that who can out fish damn near everyone...But as oyu said, those CAMO dudes who can outfish us all, are a dying breed... Im talking about the guys who roll up in a VW Passat with an unused Yakima rack on the hood, came waders and a reel when stripped out sounds like a fucking mini gun....


Also, fuck Brenda...Such a piece of shit.
 
Funny, I would've thought that a VW Passat and camo would be mutually exclusive.
 
I don't know, on the other hand, those dudes dressed head to toe in high-end Simms or Patty gear look like twats, kind of like the guy who shows up at the mountain in $1000 Bogner or Patagonia suit and proceeds to slay the green trails, maybe throwing in a blue. These also tend to be the dudes who wear their Simms shirts, jackets, hats, etc. 24/7 to let the whole world know that they are indeed part of the elite group known as Fly Fisherman.

The answer to that in a word is, YES! They are also required to shoot a gun at least once each and every day, including Easter and Christmas. At what and which caliber is not important. However, on Easter and Christmas, the proper PA etiquette is to wait until church is over.
 
That's it...I'm going to Cabelas tomorrow. ..gonna buy up some camo and blaze orange.....put my license in a laminated legal size pouch find Simms and fish as close as I can.....I may even dunk some powerbait of the end of some eagle claw snelled hooks with a goya bobber....fags....who cares what you look like..just don't be a dick...
 
I am from Pennsyltucky........ I own a few Simms products...Their Windstopper Guide jackets are IMHO the best there is. I wear them for hunting and for late fall into spring I also own several shirts that are very comfortable and fit properly. I do wear Camo on some waters i fish. I don't however use a flourescent hunting license holder for my fishing license again that is camo. I do however display my license on the back of my chest pack , never been stopped to see it by the men in green , only been asked how the fishing was. In NYS I have been asked to show it and pull it out of the holder both on the Great Lakes Tribs and on a few Catskill streams. I say wear whatever you want , just be a gentlman an don't lowhole me or crowd me , want to fish with me just ask.

I fly fished. Wore camo.and had an orange license holder long before you were even an errant cum shot. I still partake in all 3. I guess that makes me the bad guy. YES!!

I wear a camo shirt,my vest is old ripped and dirty. My rods are old but good. My reels are scratched all up. My frogg togg waders leak and on really rainy days I'll break out my helly hansen black rain coat. This is what a real fisherman looks like. Not some yuppy snob with all the fancy new fangled gear who doesn't know how to use it. I can fish with the best of them. Oh by the way when you go to the letort there is no better color then mossy oak when your belly crawling across the meadows trying to get one good cast to a rising monster brown.
