Dubbing

Caddis

wanna be fly fisher.
Just wondering what type of dubbing you guys use for your caddis and mayfly dries?

My favorite is the Umqua Superfine Dubbing. To me, it's the easiest to apply to your thread, and it sits on the hook nicer than many other brands that I've tried. I wouldn't mind trying something else out. I know differnent types of dubbing are used for different purposes, and I do not use the Umpaqua Superfine Dubbing for tying nymphs, I use other more skraggly stuff for that.

Dennis im not sure if you tried al cauccis spectrumized dubbing. But i love it! Its very easy to work with and is of the highest quality. and last but not least it does match the naturals better than anything i have seen. Its changes color when wet. The dubbing kit comes with 16 colors to match 95% of all mayflys IN north america. The cost is only about 35 bucks and will do thousands of flies. You can purchase on line or in the store. Also forgot to mention it lists the species on each bag that it imitates including dun emerger nymph and spinner colors. Also can be used for any caddis or stoneflies in north america.

I'll be up to Caucci's place the first week of October. I hope to bring back a wealth of knowledge to share with eveyrone here.

I'll definetely check out that dubbing while I'm there, and probably pick some up.

Thanks a lot Joe / Fred.

Dennis
