Dennis -- I keep Automatically getting Logged Off

Dennis,

I'm not sure if this is normal, but, While typing a new thread or responding to a thread for some reason the Site Logs me off. Doesn't happe on short responses but longer ones it does it all the time. Im not very good at typing (IM SLOW AS HELL) so if im typing for like 3 mins or more the site logs me out. I dont know why or if it is normal for that to happen but, When I get logged out (Which it doesn't tell me I am) I go and hit the Submit post button and it tells me to log in or register. Wouldn't bother me except I lose everything I typed then I have to re-do it

Maybe you can look into this for me

I sometimes get the same problem. Now, if my reply takes long to type, I highlight it and select copy before posting. If I have to re-log in, then it's just a matter of hitting paste and it's good to go.

NOT necessarily a bad thing...
It makes it so they will get into the habit of typing in Word and then cutting and pasting it to their post.
(word will help them correct their spelling... )

It's a win-win. It'll hide that some people can't spell well and for others, reading posts won't be as painful as reading 6th grade essays.

Sorry, didn't mean to avoid this... The time out is due to the site being alive. In order to not make it look like the site is being hacked, I believe there is a 5 minute time-out period otherwise it looks like you're being malicious.

I don't use word because when you cut and paste from word, it inserts junk. I would stick with Notepad and cut / paste from there. If you can't speill on ur own ask one of the school teachers on the site for help.

Thank you Dennis, It after you explained it make alot of sense. I apprecaite the answer and if my posts will take a while I will just copy the post from the site and if I get logged off I can then just paste it after I log back in.

Dan... I think maybe I missed something... You're getting logged out? I know the site will sever its connection with you after a certain amount of time. Maybe different browsers are behaving differently. I know I used to have a similar problem but haven't had the issue in quite some time. Is this happening to anyone else? Maybe I have to dig into it. Can you try with a different browser too. If your browser is ass old as you are, maybe it's time to upgrade.

Actually Dennis Im using Internet Explorer 9 -- It's completely updated It happene with both the 32 bit and the 64 bit versions -- Both Versions have 256 bit encription. Dont know if that will help you out but the more info the better to narrow it down.

Oh and BTW Just so you guys know Im really not that old -- I will be 50 In April. I have been flyfishing since Im 8 years old though or there abouts -- Cant really remember the exact age I started but I was very young. I do know I started before I was 10 though.
