Hello everybody from Italy!
Could someone identify this insect from this description? It's a coleopter.

"dimple-shelled, cyanide-blue palmetto beetles, which oil sixty thousand short yellow bristles on the soles of their feet to cling impossibily tight to waxy leaves".

If you can't identify it, someone could explain me the meaning of dimple-shelled?

I believe you are describing a Palmetto Tortoise Beetle. Of course, this may not be the genus or species which you have in Italy. However, if you look at photos of an adult, you will see the same sort of surface on its fore wings as is on a golf ball, which we refer to as dimples.
