I have a Pentax camera capable of taking great underwater shots but its old and the batteries are hard to find. I am wondering what the latest and greatest is in a good stream camera. My specs are small, waterproof and easy to use.

You might want to look at the Olympus Stylus 850 SW. It's waterproof so you can take underwater shots with it and it's small enough to fit in the breast pocket of your fishing shirt.

the latest and greatest from pentax is this one. with or without gps.

i dont know where your looking for batteries, but it looks like any battery for any pentax waterproof cameras are available somewhere online!

That's a nice looking camera. Any idea when it sells? The link is for pre-order. Objectively, I feel there's no tougher cameras than Olympus. But, everyone that has had a Pentax point and shoot has ended up with much better pics than me - particularly for Macro shots.

I had one of the first Olympus point shoot film cameras. It was only 'water resistant'. I left it out in the open on a rock for almost two weeks with 7 days at 100f and two rainstorms. Surprisingly, the camera was still where I left it. Film was ruined - but camera lasted years more. My current Olympus has been beaten beyond what I think any camera could handle and it's got the dents all over the casing to prove it. All said... I'd like to try this new Pentax!

Olympus Stylus 1030 SW...I've had it for about 2 years now and it's great. Waterproof shockproof crushproof....not fish proof though. There are a bunch of great olympus waterproof cameras out there...make a good investment now and it will last.

Old thread but it's worth noting most of the guys who shoot for f&s and the drake are using go pros for there underwater stuff
