Bullet proof waders

FlyDeal

Quill Pattern
I'm not sure they make a breathable wader that is totally immune to leaks. But has anyone found a particular wader that is better than the average? I have paid a respectable price for waders and yet to fine a pair that has been free of leaks after two seasons.

From what I've used, most real "guide weight" waders hold up better than standard issue. We pay more, but we stay dry.

I haven't used them but used the lowest pricee breathables from Orivs. They started leaking after about 1 yr.

On this note does anyone know a place you can send or take your breathable waders to have seam leaks repaired? Cabela's G Plus Gold not quite 2 years(lots of use) before leaking started. I have had neoprenes last a long time (like 9 years) but then again they're neoprene not breathables.

No there are no bullet proof waders I know of.

I bought a pair of the Simms guide weight waders almost two years ago and I have repaired almost 20 holes since.

I went with Simms because of there "bullet proof" reputation.

Granted I fish a lot and do walk off the beat and path.So I could understand the "holes"However The worst part is the seams are now leaking and Simms will not Replace the waders they want to try and fix them. For the money I SPENT THEY SHOULD TAKE THEM BACK.I really hope they do since I WOULD LIKE TO GIVE A SECOND PAIR A CHANCE.

I have returned 5 pairs of Orvis waders over the years with NO question asked. And have gotten back 5 pairs of waders at no charge.

Patagonia also takes back everything and replaces it with a new product for no charge as well.

In fact I am in the process of sending back my wading boots (Patagonia)after 31 months of use.Believe it or not I called them today and told them the felt had come lose and the trim around the bottom of the boots had worn off.The guy Dave said "well send them in and and if your not attached to the boots we will send you a new pair"!(Free). My intention at first was just to send them in to get new felt put on.And now a pair of new boots. That 160.00 is going a long way!

Because I fish so much I put a tremendous amount of wear and tear on my equipment,so my main concern is not just quality but the return policy as well.

Sometimes it worth the extra few bucks for things in the long run.

The breathable waders from Orvis are good for the money not just the silver label but the lower line ones as well. You may be returning them yearly with leaks, but you will have a new pair every year!

I have the SIMMS as well. I sent mine back and they replaced all of the seems and the neoprene feet. Honestly, when they returned to me they were as good as new. I'll also mention that they sent the UPS truck to my house to pick them up and sent them back to me for no charge.

From what I've read, I'd definetely give the Pategonia's a try.

I hope mine do come back as good as new if not new.I really beleive that they are great waders and a great product.I probably got a "bad pair".Who knows.

I just dont want to spend 350.00 to 400.00 $ every two years or so on waders.

Even if the Patagonia waders dont hold up either I know the money I spend will go much further since they will send me a new pair if needed.
