Well Steve, i have to agree with you. My favorite line in the song was sang by Bono: "Well tonight thank god it's them instead of you."

Anyone who believes in a god is certainly thanking that god for chosing themselves over the starving kids in africa (every time you sing along). If I were a believer of a god, I would surely be thanking him for chosing to starve children in other nations instead of myself.

So how many people are thanking god that it's them starving and not you?

So this is Christmas (war is over) by John Lennon. Its a good Christian message of peace. Of course, somewhat ironic, as John was am atheist.

And he was murdered by a born again Christian missionary.

Oh well.

Harrison had the first #1, sure. But, Ringo had a #1 with "Photograph" in 73 and Lennon didn't have a #1 until 80(!) with "Starting Over". In fact, Ringo had another #1 in 74, "You're Sixteen" before Lennon got off his ass 6 years later... Gotta love the Ringo...
